Spondylolisthesis

Spondylolisthesis is a spinal condition that affects the lower vertebrae, causing one of the lower vertebrae to slip forward onto the bone directly below it. This condition compromises the integrity and postural alignment of the spine, thus causing increased dural traction forces with the spinal cord, which in turn can lead to severe low back pain and compromised nerve supply to the digestive and reproductive systems.

It is a painful condition but treatable in most cases. Chiropractic can help by restoring balance to the spine and strengthening the muscles that have been weakened by the overstretched and injured ligaments and soft tissue contributing to the slip forward. By correcting the spinal misalignments above and below the site of injury, it can greatly help to reduce pain and stabilise the affected area.
